Dignity in Schools Conceptual Poster Collection
These posters were designed for Dignity in Schools, a grassroots coalition that works to reject a culture of punishment and criminalization in schools, racial disparities in school discipline, and removing the regular presence of law enforcement in schools. Their mission connects to broader social justice and human rights movements internationally.
When creating these worksheet-style posters, I wanted to juxtapose the childlike imagery and pairing them with statistics and data that Dignity in Schools works to correct and heal.
These posters also speak to the issue of "school to prison pipeline" phenomenon, when schools employ disproportionate, harsh discipline policies, students are funneled from classroom to criminal justice systems at alarming rates.
